Creatures of the Night - Short Video
Over the last week I made three night dives to capture video for "Stripers Gone Wild 2" utilizing a new camera set up that promises incredibly detailed images, even in low light. In this little episode you'll witness: a large lobster prowling the bottom and reaching out to 'feel' me with one of its long antennae; an eel slithering through the grass and muck (bearing the scars from a striper encounter); dueling spider crabs that have covered themselves in hairy coverings of camo-weed; big tautog awakened by my bright lights and an occasional tickle to get them out of their nighttime hideaways.
As always, I look forward to your input with regard to what YOU want to see in my upcoming DVDs and seminars. I'm in full blown shooting mode right now, so let me know what I should try and focus on.

Very nice. The video quality is excellent. I have never seen a lobster in combat mode like that.. Great work!!

Crafty, your tog chowda will have to wait another few weeks...unless the freezer is already full.
Thunder, the grate was part of a derelick lobster pot -- most likely a holden pen...it just settled in the rocks where it's rusting away.
tyan19, nothing gives me greater pleasure than to hear how kids enjoy my work. Hopefully it will give them a respect and love for the sea.
I'm glad you folks enjoyed the video. It goes to show you just how much is going on down there...it's a jungle I tell you. All of the footage was shot within about a three acre area of shoreline. We may not have a rainforest in Rhode Island, but Narragansett Bay is one of the most productive marine ecosystems on the planet. Now go do a little harvesting.

Yeah, I've been missing them since the season closed, Mike - but it was a good Spring for light-tackle togging....
