Transom Transducer VS thru Hull

Seeing I don't have a lot left to upgrade on my Boat. i was thinking of replacing my GT56UHD transom mount. transducer to a. GT56UHDTH thru hull.

My rationale is the current set up the Motor impacts the side scan port side

However I did see where the someone made a backing Plate to mount the transom transducer as a through Hull. but that's outside my skill set

but would be the most cost effective. choice.

and Thoughts.

So you will be taking your transom XDucer and turning it into a through hull?

it's a possibility. Saw a thread on the Hull Truth. someone with the same transducer. Fabricated an SS mounting plate using 4200 and a few SS screws and a hole big enough for the 12 pin connector .

The reason i am considering it is. they are the same Transducer except for the way they mount. but an actual Tru Hull version is. 650 bucks.

"Why risk a disaster." Honestly I am at more risk of leaving my Plug out. for a 4th time LOL. that's something I should consider using 4100 on. with my track record

The way I look at I am drilling a hole anyway. it's the same transducer why pay for it Twice.

And if i was really wanted to Half ass. it . Id 5200 it to the bottom of the hull and hope for the best. LOL

the Guy from the Hull truth was Nice enough to send me His Template(still waiting ) and Photos. I will decide then if its something I want to Tackle... or just spend the money.
