Have you done the flatwing tails before? For me they foul on a fly rod a lot. Though I do kill the smallies in Lake Champlain tribs in the spring with them. |

				Flatwing tails
			 
 Not a lot of problems fouling on the fly rod. Overline the rod one or two weights and slow the casting stroke down a bit. That helps a lot.
 Jury is out with them on the plugs. Have a friend up here who swears by them as a tail on a plug.

i made one stubby needle last year that had the tail longer than the plug, loved the action, but i lost it on a %@$%&*! bouoy
