Buy the BIN primer at Depot

I've never sanded the sealer...just the primer with 320. Covers whatever grain left nicely.

Make sure

The top coat over the prime is not Laq base. Probably not though. If you paint enamel over Laq it will lift/crack/crinkle.
When not using cedar I use in this order:

Seal with 60% boiled linseed...

Opposite here!

My first plugs were needles. I made them from birch and weighted the Butt .25 lead. I wanted the nose to float and the arse to sag.....sank like a stone!
Were 8" and 2oz. Cast like a missle though!

Hmmm

I would find it hard to wanna repaint history like that. I know they are just plugs but they are just oozing character! I'd wanna hang them up just like they are! Take measurements and make new ones...
