I used both methods. Epoxy is time consuming when doing big numbers but i do it on occassions . Like hardening soft wood swimmers or small maple runs.
Helmsman 60/40 is my go.to. i did heat them...

Ray i looked the diagram. A 20 collector may be a bit small for braid 30lb and up. Plus you're close in distance 21.5". Not saying it doesnt works but I would test cast this set up before wrapping....
