Is the weight directly connected to the wire? If not cut the tail loop off, pull the wire out and reinsert a new wire with the swivel and loop the tail. I do this all the time with plastic poppers...

The grommet goes in the hole first then you slide in the lip, the lip has a hole in it for the wire to pass through, the hole is offset by about 1/8 of an inch.
