First get your self a lathe variable speed and some turning tools
Then a 12" Pilot drill 1/8" Dia.
Auger Bit
Some 1/2 by 1/2 square stock pine or a 1/2 inch dia dowel
that should get you...

Let it dry slow

Forced drying of unfinished wood is a big mistake it will warp and crack the wood and weaken it's structure. Finshed wood's coating not only protects it but keeps it's shape let it dry in a place...

St.Croix's are nice but look intothe Shimano's they drain your wallit but thier worth it. They are made from the highest quality components and are fully warrenteed. A good buy.

There is only one guy i know of that makes homade plugs and sells them he comes down the canal some times and they work reel good. Also hit the flea markets and swap meets thats how i learned if all...
