Thanks George! I did try a version of the maple with the left 2 lip which I preferred over the pike lip on the pine version but it seemed to swim almost identically to the one with the pikie 2 lip. ...

The ones that I had built had either a pikie 3 lip or a lefty 2 high slot lip. Both caught fish but I really liked the way they swam with the lefty 2 high slot lip. Those would get a few feet...

Here are a few pics of fish caught on needles over the last few months. A needle with an eel skin on it got me my best fish of the season (so far) but the plain ones produced some pretty nice fish...
