Yes, the spiral pic was a rod that was extended 5", with 2 layers of cork tape. So far I have not glued down the cord.
The black cord rod has one wrap over itself and then all the way down the rod....

No shrink wrap, thats straight black paracord. Its very light, about the same weight as a wrap of cork tape.

The spiral wrapped cord is nice in the hand, very comfortable ribbed feeling.
